A complex and full coffee that brings to mind deep red wine, with heavy, sweet notes balancing out into a spicy character. In the fragrance and aroma, dark cocoa and black pepper lie heavy over a soft berry or cherry like scent. In the cup, the sweetness opens up into dark cherry, blackberry, and hints of banana. The bakers chocolate deepens and the spice note hints slyly at clove.

The Wahana Estate Coffee Plantation is located near Lae Mungkur village in the Dairi of North Sumatera, on the Island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Wahana Estate takes great pride in the quality of their coffee and aim at having zero defects in their quality. Wahana Estate sits between 1300-1500m above sea level.

Wahana Estate sources much of its coffee from small farmer groups in the surronding area. To nurture their relationship, thay have created a Farmer Support Center that helps these farmers by providing information about farm management, shade tree placement, organic farming, and even providing them seeds.

Wahana Coffee is working to receive their Organic and Rainforest Alliance Certifications. They have not been officially certified, but they currently use only the composted skin of the pulped cherries as their fertilizer.
