This offering comes from Las Margaritas farm of Granja La Esperanza. Situated on a steep mountain slope, Las Margaritas sits between 4600 - 6560 feet with a mild temperature range of 64℉ - 74℉.
The farm is planted with several varietals, including Caturra, Typica, and Colombia, farmed under sustainable agricultural practices. When harvesting, coffee cherries must meet strict standards of ripeness and quality before being accepted for processing. This harvest has been chosen to go through the carefully managed Natural Process, where the cherry is left to ferment on the drying coffee seeds for several weeks before being pulped. This gives the coffee a round body and rich sweetness.
Granja La Esperanza is certified by the Rainforest Alliance and managed under strict sustainability concepts and standards. Fertilizer is produced on the farm and is 100% chemical free. Vermiculture added to the volcanic soil is highly nutritious to the trees, producing higher sugar levels in the coffee cherries.
We appreciate the philosophy and methods Rigoberto Herrera applies to the harvesting of his coffees and are consistently impressed by the quality. We think you will be too.

This lightly roasted coffee features a cherry and milk chocolate aroma. When brewed it has a velvety body, red wine-like flavor, black cherry sweetness, and blackberry acidity. The finish is rich like chocolate fudge.
